Coronavirus Liskeard Town Forum Support
The instruction is to now stay at home. This though is causing a lot questions.
Having spoken to a doctor last night, he summed up the seriousness of the situation with the answer.
‘STAY AT HOME’
By going out, we are now putting those who work for the N.H.S. and their families at direct risk.
However, there have been some questions over what the phrase:
‘Travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home.’
Means for the self employed, those looking after animals, (out of the food chain like horses) and those requiring assistance to run their business from home.
Liskeard Town Forum asks all residents to please stay at home where absolutely possible. If you are in a trade, try to think about the impact of not working:
– does it threaten life by not working?
– will it leave your customers in an impossible situation, (no heating, flooded, no cooking facilities for example)
– if any doubt, ask, or check out the following webpages.

The Forum welcomes residents and community groups to our regular public meetings. You can find details of what we have discussed previously on the Meetings Page. If you can’t attend in person, you can still take part in our discussions by e-mailing us through the enquiries page.
The Town Forum is a clearing house for ideas, and is independent from any other organisation. That does not stop us from working with our colleagues in the Council, and many other groups in the town. You can read more about our work by downloading the latest Forum Digest, a quick to read summary of what has been important at our meetings.
We were set up in 1995 to regenerate the town, promote it as a great place to live work and visit, and to share a common interest in what matters to us. Most of all, we want to celebrate the good things that the good people of Liskeard do to make life better for everyone. Join us at one of our friendly and informal meetings. You’d be very welcome. If you would like any of our documents in an alternative format or language, please contact 01579-345407.
Our next Community Meeting takes place on Wednesday 15th April 2020, and our AGM takes place on Wednesday 17th June 2020 at 7.00pm at the The Public Hall, Refreshment Room, West Street, Liskeard PL14 6BW.
Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to subscribe to our mailing list and receive our Forum Digest, Meeting Programmes and regular Quick News bulletins about our work.
